International Prepurchase Examination

The International Pre-Purchase Examination for Sporthorses at eDigit Equine Veterinary:

eDigit offers a complete PPE adapted to international purchasers. Of course this PPE can be modified as you or your vet wishes. eDigit's equine vets are Licensed Equine PPE-vets (NEVA, Netherlands Equine Veterinary Association). Our vets are also familiar with PPE protocols of for instance the USA, UK and Scandinavia.

We are very experienced in performing high quality independent PPE vettings of sporthorses. These can take place both at our clinic (Roosendaal, the Netherlands) and at the accomodation the horse is situated (if suitable). This means the horse does not have to travel to our clinic.

We are happy to consult your own advising veterinarian if requested. This results in a PPE that both you and your vet suits. We can provide digital images (X-rays, ultrasound, endoscopy) directly after PPE and payment.

Full documentation: including a written veterinary report of both the clinical and radiographic examination. Ultrasound, (video)endoscopy and digital video of the dynamic examination are available on request.

Static examination: inspection, palpation, confirmation, foot-balance and mobilisation
reflexes of the axial skeleton.

Dynamic examination: walk at a straight line and alternating circles; trot at a straight line
and lunging at a hard surface; trot and canter lunging at soft surface; flexion tests

Radiographic examination:
standard approach for the international Pre-Purchase Examination (PPE) (34 X-Rays):
* Distal extremities: frontfeet (navicular area) LM, DPr-PaDiO and skyline projection;
* All fetlocks LM, DP, DMPLO and DLPMO projections
* Hocks: LM, DP, DMPlLO and DLPlMO projections
* Stifles: LM and CdCr projections

* If indicated or on request: complementary projections, like full axial skeleton (occiput-T1 and
spinal processus T6-L5)
Of course, on request a different set of x-rays can be made. For example, your own veterinarian can send us his or hers request.

Ultrasonographic examination: If indicated or on request. For example of: (flexor) tendons, suspensories, stifles or a transrectal exam of the lumbosacral area.

Laryngoscopic examination: upper airways, video documented on request.

Bloodwork: we always take blood after a clinical examiation, we store the serum (frozen) for six months. On request we can sent bloodsamples for health screening / drug testing / import and export purposes to accredited laboratories we work with, like WUR/Lelystad in the Netherlands, AML in Belgium and Böse in Germany.

Our advice is to have your own veterinarian contact us upfront the PPE. If, for example, additional X-rays or examinations are required we are happy to perform them on request.

Payment
All international requested PPE's need to be paid cash, by PIN, by creditcard (+7%) or by paypal (+7%). Results can only be shared after full payment.
